Flatland Brewery is four guys who love making—and drinking—good beer
Flatland Brewery was founded by your neighbors—Frank, Chris, Aaron, and Jeff—who have a combined 40 years of homebrewing experience. Frank has been brewing beer at home for about 10 years before partnering with the three others who have long had an interest in brewing.
Frank says, “It started with Aaron and I homebrewing together 10 years ago, at first occasionally, and eventually becoming a near obsession. At that time we discussed opening a brewery, but it was impractical for us. More recently, for the last three years, I have also been brewing with Chris in West Fargo. As we shared our beers with friends and neighbors, they commented on how they love the Fargo-Moorhead breweries—and our beer—but they really wanted a brewery closer to home. The more we looked at it, the more it made sense. Jeff, who Chris has known since college, being an avid home brewer and handyman with a background in chemistry, was a natural fit into the group. The four of us saw a demand in West Fargo for a product we love to make, so we grabbed that opportunity and Flatland Brewery was born.”
Flatland Brewery’s name and brand aspect reflects the beautiful landscape of North Dakota’s Red River Valley. Step out of the city and gaze upon the endless flat landscape, the horizon that goes on for miles, interrupted only by small town grain elevators. We’re proud to be “Flatlanders”, and we hope that the fruits of our labor have created a neighborhood brewery that country and city embrace.
